FAQ

What is a sensible first army to try?
Build around holding a capture point and supporting that position. The September 5 guide describes Shieldman and Archer among the starters; use them as role examples, then check ownership and current equip requirements.
Should I replace all my starters after a good summon?
Compare the whole selection first. A new unit may use budget needed for a useful supporting role. Keep the starters while you check whether the new selection fits and serves your objective.
Is this a fixed roster or a strongest-army ranking?
No. It is a conditional role plan for beginners. Exact costs, slot rules and current matchup performance have not been established here, so no total or win-rate claim is supplied.

Which roles should a beginner army cover first?

Begin with a unit that can stay on an objective and a unit that can support that position. Add another melee or mobile option only when your owned roster and displayed budget allow it. This role plan gives each selection a clear job before you spend resources chasing a more expensive army.

AllThings. How’s September 5 guide reports a starter pool of Mercenary, Shieldman, Spearman and Archer. It describes Shield Wall as a defensive formation and ranged troops as support. The following is our editorial use of those reported roles, not a current tier list.

Job in the plan Reported starter example What to try during a match
Hold the position Shieldman Keep the unit near the point you intend to contest; use Hold when it is in position
Support the engagement Archer Support the contested position without deliberately leading the push with the ranged unit
Add another melee option Spearman or Mercenary Add one only if it fits; use the extra selection to support the same objective rather than chase unrelated fights

These are examples from the reported starter pool. They are not a guaranteed selection screen, a requirement to equip all of them, or a claim that Spearman has a verified damage bonus against a particular enemy. For your first session’s tutorial and match sequence, use the beginner guide.

The Shieldman guide expands the holding role. If you later obtain a fast unit, the Scout Rider guide covers its reported use in a forward push.

How do I fit that plan into my star budget?

Check the full selection against the Star Limit shown on your account before committing to it. The reported rule adds together the stars of equipped troops, so a strong summon can consume room that another role needs. Ownership alone does not tell you whether the army can be equipped.

  1. Pick the job that matters most for the next match: holding a point or supporting a push.
  2. Read the current equip cost of the owned unit you want for that job.
  3. Check how much budget remains before adding the supporting selection.
  4. If the full plan will not equip, remove or replace one selection and check again. Preserve the role you actually need for the objective.
  5. Add the third role only after the smaller selection fits. Do not treat an unclear cost as zero.

The star-limit guide explains the budget check and what to record if equipping still fails. We do not assign named unit costs here because current costs and other restrictions have not been established.

What should I substitute when a unit is missing?

Substitute according to the job you need, then check the replacement’s displayed requirements. A unit that costs less but cannot perform that job changes the plan. If your roster cannot cover every role, use the smaller selection you can actually equip and adapt your objective choice to its limits.

Missing option Practical adjustment Tradeoff to remember
Shieldman Use an owned melee option to join a teammate’s push, and use Hold to practise staying on the objective A melee unit is not automatically a substitute for Shield Wall or its reported defensive use
Archer Use the available melee selection with your team while looking for a ranged option The plan loses its ranged-support role; do not pretend a melee replacement keeps the same spacing
A third selection Keep the holding-and-support plan if it fits Fewer available roles means fewer choices when the fight changes
Budget for a new summon Compare it with the complete starter selection before replacing anything A higher-star selection may remove room for support; its rarity alone does not settle the tradeoff

Scout Rider is described in the source as a fast unit suited to Triangle formation. If you obtain a mobile option, treat it as a different attacking plan rather than a direct replacement for a unit whose job was to hold ground. No current cavalry matchup or charge-damage value is assumed.

How should I use this army on attack or defense?

On attack, move the selected troops toward the marked objective with your team and give them a job at that location. On defense, place the holding unit where you intend to contest the point and support that position. Reposition when the useful fighting area changes instead of leaving a Hold order unattended.

The reported command set is Follow, Hold, Attack and Rush. Follow moves the squad with your character; Hold keeps it at a position; Attack engages the selected target; Rush commits it forward. Those functions make a simple practice sequence possible:

  • Approach: use Follow while moving to the objective with teammates.
  • Set up: use Hold once the unit is where you want it to remain.
  • Engage: choose a target that contributes to taking or keeping that objective.
  • Reposition: leave the old position when the objective or fight moves; issue a new order deliberately.

The source associates Shield Wall with holding ground and Triangle with a forward push by fast troops. Use only formations available for your current unit. A role plan does not establish that every formation is available to every selection.

Chrisu’s September 19 beginner guide recommends keeping defending archers behind the front line and using camps to replenish losses. That supports a useful practice goal: move the supporting role with the group and review the squad’s condition before another push, instead of treating each selected unit as a separate fight.

How can I tell whether my next change helped?

Compare one change at a time against the problem you were trying to solve. Keep the match role and intended objective in mind, then record whether the selection equipped and whether it did its assigned job. A victory or defeat alone cannot tell you which unit or formation caused the result.

Problem you noticed A useful next comparison
The selected army will not equip Recheck displayed costs and the account limit before changing combat tactics
The unit stayed at an old point Practise the repositioning sequence before replacing it
The ranged role was lost during the approach Try a more deliberate approach with the holding role in front; compare what happens
The expensive summon left no room for support Compare the complete smaller-unit selection with the new selection, using the same objective
You want to spend on an upgrade Check the actual requirements and result first; consult the evolution guide

This plan is intended for learning objective play with a limited roster. It is not a ranked composition, a combat simulator, or a claim of tested matchup advantages. Keep useful starter options until you know what role a replacement will fill.

Which sources support this plan?

The official Roblox description establishes recruitment, capture points, formations and troop upgrades as parts of the game. The detailed starter roles, commands, formations and budget explanation come from AllThings. How’s September 5 report, accessed September 20, 2026. That report itself references MimoBlox’s gameplay; it is not an independent second game test.

The selection priorities and comparison exercises above are editorial recommendations derived from those reported mechanics. No named star total, current slot cap, or strongest-army claim is attached to them.
